Not only is it the world's smallest and lightest full-range in-ear headphone design, the Klipsch Image fuses lifestyle, technology, and fashion to offer a personalized fit and deliver a precision-tuned acoustic experience. IMAGE earphones utilize translucent patent-pending Contour Ear Gels that are anatomically designed to accurately fit inside the human ear canal. These soft, oval silicon tips reduce ear fatigue as well as provide an amazing seal for excellent noise isolation and increased bass response. Because ear canal measurements vary, each IMAGE model comes with five different ear gel sizes: small, medium, and large single flange designs as well as small and large double flange designs. Exclusive extended-frequency KG926 balanced micro-armatures deliver a superior acoustic experience with all the delicate accuracy you have come to expect from Klipsch. IMAGE earphones feature aluminum bodies finished in beautiful anodized copper and sleek, streamlined black "tails." Aside from aesthetic appeal, these flexible "tails" reduce cable stress and serve as an acoustic dampener to minimize cable noise.

Customer Rating: Summary: Sound great, with caveats (Image S4 model) Comment: I've spent a fair amount of time with these, and I have to say, they do sound great -- when I have 'em jammed in my ears *just* right. And there's the issue. While these are, by a huge margin, the best-sounding earbuds I've ever tried, they still suffer from the same issues as any other earbuds. They don't always stay in place, and even a slight movement will adversely affect the sound quality. (I find that the trick of arranging the wire behind my head and over my shoulder helps, but it's still not perfect.) Also, when they do stay in, they can get uncomfortable after a while. They're quite comfortable as earbuds go, but stick anything in your ear for more than an hour or so and you're going to notice it.
On the plus side, three different sets of rubber end shells are included. They're easy to swap, but they attach securely and won't fall off. Having tried all three, I find the small (which are a slightly different shape) and the large to be more comfortable than the medium, with the large staying in my ears the best. Having three options is great.
Another nice feature is the sound isolation. While it's not the same as active noise-cancelling headphones, I was surprised at how well these buds block out background noise. I wasn't expecting that, but then again, I haven't had earbuds that tightly block the ear canal like these before.
The wire, which is only about 1 meter long, is as thin as what you'd find on the cheap buds that came with a $5 pocket radio. Maybe it's sturdier; I don't know. I haven't risked breaking it by testing its strength. But I was expecting it to be a bit thicker for this kind of money.
The cleaning tool is a nice accessory. It's a tiny plastic stick with a tiny wire loop on the end for scraping ear wax out of the holes on the bud tips.
The sound is excellent, with very nice bass response, clarity, and stereo separation (at least until they slip out of place). I would say these are somewhat superior to my Sennheiser HD 457 headphones in terms of audio quality. However, the 457s cost less than half as much. For the same money as these, one could almost certainly pick up a pair of regular headphones with better sound. And, of course, regular headphones are more comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I would only recommend these for portable use or for short sessions.
In the interest of fairness, I'm giving these 4 stars since their shortcomings are mostly common to earbuds in general. But taking regular headphones into account, I'd only award three stars.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great quality! Comment: I love these earphones. They are, by far, the most comfortable ear phones I have ever worn. They fit wonderfully, and there is no danger of them falling out when take my brisk walks (something I have had to deal with, repeatedly, with other brands!). Besides the comfort factor, the quality of the sound is amazing. I love being able to really feel the bass tones of my favorite music. I would definitely recommend these to anyone who is looking for maximum comfort without sacrificing the quality of the sound of the earphones. These are perfect!
Customer Rating: Summary: Aural Ecstasy Comment: These earphones offer incredible sound quality. I've owned high-end Shure earphones and pretty-decent Bose earphones and the Klipsch X10 blows them away with tight bass, deliciously detailed & remarkably accurate sound, and the type of "sound stage" you only expect from a high-end home system.
Yes, the small size is sweet, and the ear buds don't budge - unlike other models where you're always losing and replacing them. Plus, they look hella cool too. But the whole point is they sound amazing. Who cares if some people can't hear the difference? If you love quality audio, stick these in your ears and smile.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good sound Comment: I have recently purchased this and been very impressed with the sound quality. Don't hestitate if you are considering this.
Customer Rating: Summary: Amazing value and quality Comment: After seeing a glowing review of the new Image S4 headphones on Cnet, I had to dive in and purchase the day of release from Amazon. I have Bose In-ear headphones and these just flat out blow those away. At $75.00 I cannot imagine that anything can compare to this sound quality. The sound is incredibly well balanced and the fit and comfort is perfect.
Positives:
1) Price/Sound Quality Ratio. Great full sound with excellent bass, but not too deep like the Bose. Great mid and high level's excellent for all different types of music.
2) Comfort: They come with a case and several different sizes of in ear plastic. The Bose headphones had plastic that came off all the time and if you lost them, you would have to find replacements. These will not come off unless you want them too. They feel good in your ear and comfortable.
3) Noise Isolation: Indeed these do an excellent job of isolating outside noise based upon the precise fit of the ear pieces.
4) Cord length: The cord is the perfect length for me. Not too long, not too short. The Bose headphones have a cord that is just too long and cumbersome.
Negatives:
1) Not really a true negative, but if you are not looking for a sound isolating headphone, do not purchase these. I walk the dog outside quite a bit and have a hard time hearing things around me like traffic or trail runners, which at times can be dangerous. Just something to think about.
If you are looking at purchasing a replacement for a lost or broken pair of iPod headphones, save your money and purchase these. The difference in sound quality between these and stock headphones is clear and vast. I really liked the Bose in ear headphones when they were first released, but these just flat blow those out of the water for overall balanced sound quality and comfort.
