The foam is a good substitute for insulation such as fiberglass or cellulose. The foam is used where high values are desired. Although the cost is higher than the batt insulation or rigid foam insulation fiberglass are preferred for high performance. The value R (per inch of thickness) of foam isolates from R-4 to R-8. This range of values of R is 2-3 times higher than the R-value of other materials.

The foam is composed of three materials, including Extruded polystyrene foam (XEPs), molded expanded polystyrene (MEPS) and polyurethane, poly or related to chemical mixtures. Some of these programs are installed as a liquid and others are manufactured in the factory.

The molding of polystyrene foam is basically a closed cell material and can be molded into different subjects. This material is known as "Beadboard and the value of R is 4 per inch of thickness. Beadboard A is polystyrene beads containing pentane expanded. This is mixed with a blowing agent and then poured into a container. Heating bills extend lot. The beads are then injected into a mold and shape as needed.

The closed forms of solitary confinement and extruded polystyrene foam is similar to members. Polystyrene caps are liquidated and a blowing agent is injected to form gas bubbles.
