Acer mini laptop warranty question?

I purchased a new Acer mini laptop approximately a month ago from a local computer store. The computer now won't charge at all. The guy at the computer store said that some kind of board went bad, possibly through a power surge although they are unsure. They said that this will cost me $100.00 for parts to fix. Does Acer not offer a warranty for a computer that is only a month old?
